It's a bit bizarre that this feature has never gone beyond M1 bars after all these years...

It seems crazy to pull tick data from the server every time, in particular.

This feels like a change that would take about 15 minutes of software development...

What am I missing?

Any Australian brokers yet?

Are any Australian brokers offering Desktop 4.2 as yet?
The Australian brokers just say "We offer cTrader" - But they don't specify which version.

The improvements here sound awesome, as a few of the improvements address issues that made me give up on my algorithmic trading ideas.

Hi there,

Multisymbol optimization is not supported at the moment.

OK, thanks for that.

Manual optimization it is then. That's a shame...

By the way - At first I thought this only affected a cBot running with a Ticks Timeframe, but I think it also may happen with other timeframes (still affecting the loaded DateTime periods for 'non-primary' symbols referenced in the cBot)

cTrader's caching of data can make behaviour different here from one run to the next.

Testers: Maybe re-start cTrader if in doubt, to clear its cache!

This happens only during visual backtesting to indicators added on the backtesting chart. This is by design to speed up the backtesting process. Indicators references by cBots and cBot execution should not be affected.

Ahh, good to know.

Good info to wrap this thread up. Thanks again.

Swing index is calculated based on the difference of the previous open and close prices. Open and close price for tick bars is always the same so the specific indicator cannot be calculated.

Thanks Panagiotis.

So some indicators can be expected to not work in Ticks view.

Good to know. I didn't know.

Just to add to the chorus, I am trying to do something similar in 3.8, so any updates/information would be great!

In fact, some of the standard Indicators, like SwingIndex, simply don't seem to display in tick T1 view, in my cTrader 3.8 :

Is this normal / to be expected, or is something wrong?

Hi Rui,

Thanks, we will investigate this.

Hey Panagiotis - Did this issue ever get resolved?

I'm looking at making a tick-based cBot, but I am confused (and concerned) about the situation with Indicators and Back-testing.

Are there any resources to add clarity around this?
