This is a major bummer.. Forcing me to go back to MT4 (garbage) for execution and leave cTrader purely for charting.

Unfortunate guys, as it's clear the platform was never planned for professionals, or this would have been included in the business model.

Dear Trader,

As said in our previous post.

Please have a look at the Workspaces section of our user support site.

Workspaces is a cloud feature which you can use to set up and save different platform layouts that you can use from multiple accounts and on any computer, but only on the same platform.

Workspaces created on cTrader Desktop cannot be loaded on cTrader Web, due to the mild variations between the applications.

A saved workspace will include the following (not entirely definitive as it is subject to change)

  1. Open charts (including any options or indicators applied to the charts)
  2. Chart templates
  3. Favourite symbols.
  4. Preferences (QuickTrade settings, layout selection, sounds on/off, etc)

C'mon team, how can we keep going over this? :)

From the link you posted... '..You cannot save the timeframe or line studies in a template.'

This is the feature required, as stated in the first post and subsequent.

Your platform doesn't offer the feature, all good, but please stop referring me to pages that are not relevant to my requirements.

RE:
You need to read my post properly mate. Daily highs lows etc are only some of the levels. The main ones are determined by price order blocks and specific detailed areas of price movement. These cannot be done by an indicator.

Seems to me you need the right indicator.

Haha possibly, but the lines are always changing as the market creates new order blocks and areas of interest.

I really just need bloody cTrader's basic functionality to allow the savings of line drawings in templates! As so many other platforms do.. :)

Which line studies do you draw over and over again? If that's your problem...

I draw anything from weekly, monthly highs/low to areas of order flow taken from Daily-4H-1H and then minor levels of interest on smaller time frames.

They are simply horizontal lines, but the templates do not save these, which is a ridiculous 'feature'.

For someone who runs multiple instances of charts, across various time frames and would like to draw their lines on one chart from Daily down. Then save that template, and while keeping the chart open and split screened, use those same lines on a lower time frame and different chart instance - there is simply no way to do this.

It makes no sense at all.

Line 1 pretty clearly states that you cannot save line studies in templates..

  1. Setup your chart options. You can save the zoom level, chart type, indicators, grid and line settings, and colors. You cannot save the timeframe or line studies in a template.

This is the issue; it is something that is available in many other platforms, I don't see why it is limited on cTrader?

Maybe this:

Top left at your chart: Help - Help Guide - http://help.spotware.com/

Read it all before using the platform...

Have a look at Charts: Templates, that will answer your question.

Thanks for the reply, but saving templates does not save the drawings on a chart. When importing a template onto a new chart none of the drawings are present; as they are with other platforms.

I have asked other traders about this who use cTrader and the response is the same; not possible.

So, if we are indeed missing something can you please clue me in as to how you are drawing on DAX chart 1, saving the template; loading said template on DAX chart 2 and it is loading all of your drawings?

Dear Trader,

Hello?????

Can you please tell how in the world you are able to create a chart for on instrument, say DAX, draw up a bunch of lines at particular levels; then save/copy this chart including its drawings so it can be imported onto a new chart of the same pair.

This really should not be difficult.. It is a huge pain in the arse to draw lines on multiple charts over and over and over and over again.

PLEASE HELP!!

Excuse my anger but the lack of simple feature wastes so much of time, I've had enough and will need to change platforms again.

Sorry still doesn't answer the question.

I use workspaces at present but when I have two instances open I cannot load a workspace I have saved on one cTrader instance from another. As it is the workspace currently loaded.

Are you suggesting the only way to do this is to save the workspace as a new workspace every day on the main instance, then load this new workspace from the second instance of cTrader?

Dear Trader,

Currently there is no way to navigate to particular dates instantly. We will consider providing such feature in the future. Stay tuned.

Additionally, you can post your ideas/suggestions to http://vote.spotware.com/

Thank you.

Please do consider this one a priority, without it thorough PA analysis is not possible. Currently I have to use other platforms for my detailed analysis and come back to cTrader for more gross levels and execution.

Cheers!

A lot of traders do the same, i don't see the problem!  you can use the arrow buttons to scrol faster.

This one obviously doesn't concern you then. Try to zone in on price on a 15m chart on any date mid July '15. You'll see that scrolling with arrow keys makes no difference. If one wants to look at areas of order flow on lower TFs in the past it takes far more work than it should.

Please yes to this feature; this is integral to being able to carry out thorough analysis. Without it the platform is severely limited!

Dear Trader,

Could you please check your internet connection with your ISP?

As we can see from the information you sent, cTrader disconnects frequently because you have huge latency.

I have also just submitted another error log using a very quick connection.

Thanks for that, but that's not it. I have now tried 3 different connections, all with very low ping and MB down. The lag is present just as bad on each link.

It is definitely something in the software; short of rebuilding my laptop which I obviously want to avoid, I cannot resolve this.

Please assist.

Hi,

I'm running 8GB of RAM so double the requirements.

I would prefer not to use the web platform, is there any troubleshooting we can do to assess why the platform is locking up during volatile conditions?

Dear Trader,

You might not have enough memory to support the use of cTrader, Windows 10 on Boot Camp and Mac OXs all together. You could check the minimum requirements to use cTrader at “Install cTrader” section of our support site. In addition we recommend you to check out cTrader Web (which runs on all new browsers, including Safari) provides an identical user experience to our downloadable cTrader platform. We would appreciate if you tried it out on your MAC and we kindly ask you to contact your Broker to provide you with the link to cTrader Web.
