Hi benpepperwhittaker,

You can use linked charts to do this. Just link your three charts together and then select your symbol from the market watch. All three charts should be updated.

Best Regards,

Panagiotis

Wow this is awesome, saves me from so much work. Thank you!

Is it:

1) possible to make the "active symbol panel" smaller? I can't seem to drag it anymore to the right, and it takes much more of the screen than is necessary.

2) possible to have the symbol pairs in a listed view so that I won't have to click and open the list and then click the symbol I'd like to see? Not a huge thing, but would be very easy on the finger if I could just press the symbols with 1 click, or even use the keyboard arrows to switch between the symbols.

Thanks!

3) Additional question: when I right click on the symbols or on the watchlist, nothing happens. I don't see a "favourite" symbol anywhere either. Before I was able to do this, create a custom list of symbols. This was before the last update I know. Do you know if the feature is changed or what might be going on here?

There's many reasons why not.

Firstly I would then have to constantly move the text boxes from left to right and back when switching between timeframes.

Secondly it is very much unnecessary work and hard to manage, to have all the text boxes lined up over/under each other. It will definately look very messy.

I'd like them to be like the numbers on the fibonacci tool, so that no matter how you zoom in and out, you'll see the numbers to the right on your chart like this:

I assume though, by your respons, that this is not something that's coming to your platform in the near future.

Ben

Hi benpepperwhittaker,

From the screenshot ir is not clear what is the problem. Could you please send us two screenshots, one for W1 and one for H4 showing the difference you are writng about?

Best Regards,

Panagiotis

Here is two pictures:

I draw the trendline from the candle high on the Daily chart:

Here is what i looks like on the Hourly chart: I want the trendline to start from the high of the candle on the hourly chart as well, where I have drawn an arrow, to avoid stuff looking messy when there are several trendlines on the chart. This has not been a problem at the platform I used before so I would assume it's possible to do something about.

Thanks!

Hi,

Is it possible to only display drawing tools on certain timeframes?

ie. how do i hide 5 or 15 minute fib's or trendlines on the 1hr Timeframe chart

Thanks,

I need this exact same thing but cannot find it. I want to hide my low time frame stuff on the higher timeframes, or else they look like shit.

Hi Ben,

There is no other feature at the moment. You can try double clicking on the Trend Line and choose Show Angle. This feature will help you drawing a straight line.

Best Regards,

Panagiotis

Great, that will do it for now. Thanks.

Hi Ben,

Trend lines are for this purpose. Why do you say that it is hard to draw precicely enough?

Best Regards,

Panagiotis

The thing is that the trendline tool can be drawn every direction. I am trying to draw a short, horizontal line from a high or low to predict future resistance/support. When I draw the trendline I'm usually drawing it slightly upwards or downwards even though I try to draw it 100% horizontal. I would just like a simple line that I can draw perfectly horizontal, without it having to clutter all other major support- and resistance levels.

Is there a feature that I'm not finding myself, perhaps?

Hello!

It turned out to be an antivirus issue. I have now managed to resolve the problem. This was not really any faults of cTrader, so I am sorry for the trouble.

Best regards,

Ben.

Hi Ben,

Not really :) Can we arrange a TeamViewer session so that our QA team can inspect your computer?

Best Regards,

Panagiotis

Absolutely.

Hi Ben,

When you say nothing happens, do you mean there are no errors or cTrader does not launch? If cTrader does not launch then this is because you probably try to run it from a short cut. To launch cTrader as an admininstrator, you need to find the actual folder and run it from there.

Best Regards,

Panagiotis

Sorry for not being clear.

Nothing happens as in cTrader does not launch.

You were correct - I was trying to run it as administrator from a shortcut. I found the original file and launched it as administrator. Both errors still occur, so that does not fix the problem. Does it narrow down what might be causing it?

Thanks,

Ben

Hi Ben,

Both cAlgo folder and Templates folder are located in the Documents folder. So it seems cTrader does not have sufficient permissions to that folder. However I cannot give you further advise as I do not know what is happening on your pc. Can you please try running cTrader as an admininstrator and let me know if the problems disappear?

Best Regards,

Pdnagiotis

Hmm, that is weird - I try to run as administrator but nothing happens. I'm on a Windows 10.

Hi Ben,

Thank you for posting in our forum. They both sound as permission issues. Can you make sure that cTrader has read/wrire access to the specific folders?

Best Regards,

Panagiotis

I have checked the settings for both the cTrader application and the folder. I find that my user has access to everything that is possible for both of them.

I do not understand how to make sure that cTrader has access! I can go into the system settings and I find that my user has read/write access to the program, and the same with the folder, but I cannot find a specific place to give permission from cTrader app --> folder.

Can you please explain furher? Tried googling for hours as I'd reeeally like to be able to create and switch between templates.
