It is easy to see the platform was not designed by traders for traders. From extensive testing I can tell you range bars other than 'round numbers' can make significant difference. To only provide 'round numbers' 5, 10 etc. seems to be a low effort attempt to get more users.

12, 14, 18, 22, 24, 28, 31, 32 pips etc. work far better than 20, 25, 30, 35 etc.

Hi Panagiotis,

This would be one https://ctrader.com/forum/ctrader-support/14717

It is obvious there is no history data stored locally for any time frame to generate the charts. Each time a user opens the platform, the platform needs to connect with the brokers VPS where data is then downloaded (every new login). This system causes massive delays in chart generating.

I get this often (below)

And this every time I change time frame

And the fact it takes so long to generate charts on startup.

Cannot back test on weekends and after hrs.

Cannot reference alternate time frames from loaded time frame, as the data has not been downloaded since new login (startup).

I need to add, this request is for simply functional trading and viewing charts when using the 'downloaded platform' version, and not for back testing, although this ability would greatly assist back testing as well.

Poor Data Transfer on Server Connection

Sorry 1001camel for partly butting in on your thread, but I am having the same frustrating problems.

I have two different platforms on two different machines and two different O/S, they both are affected with this issue.

As a part solution I made a suggestion to provide implementation for local history, as it appears on every start up of the platform it needs to transfer all data again, as opposed to simply loading the latest fresh data.

Poor Data Transfer on Server Connection

Hi,

To add to the above I am Australian based and data transfer over the server connection 'Sydney 6' is very poor. Every startup of the platform loads a chart but when I change timeframe all I get is two spinning donuts and a black screen.

To view a different timeframe I have to shutdown the platform and restart which is quite frustrating.

I contacted my broker "pepperstone' and they told me it is out of their hands with proxy servers placed around the world which they have no control over.

It would be a very special day for me to change timeframes and still see a working chart. MT4 works perfectly.

Yes, I have changed PC's and the problem persists.

I hope this can help someone else as like usual I do not expect a reply to this post for 3-4 years.

Regards.
