It is 5 years since this first request.

It appears like Range and Renko bars may be a 'No' from brokers because of the edge they give traders who know how to use them for profit.

This is the only reason I can try and understand why these common charts cannot be added to cAlgo/Trader.

Artur has made the indicator, but you cannot use robots on them, and it is a 3rd party cost.

If this is ever added, please, please don't add only specific ranges like you did with tick charts. This really limits the whole purpose, especially if you don't know what ranges work best with our own custom indicators.

cAlgo is no good to me without range bars.

Now approaching 2 years this enquiry......

Sorry, no longer 'staying tuned', very disappointing.

what brokers support this platform?

There is a variety of Brokers and Banks that currently support cTrader/cAlgo platforms. You can choose which one suits you best.
Unfortunately we cannot disclose the full list, however a simple search online will help you find a number of providers.

are there other charting options besides time based candles/bars?

We will introduce other charting options(Renkos, Range bars etc) in the future.

Stay tuned.

Can you also keep this in mind for when range bars eventually come online?

Fixed ticks and points are about as useful as an ashtray on a motor bike.

You have some great suggestions.

I have to add - It really appears the designers are not traders, colors and precise traders adjustments are severely lacking.

If they really wanted to implement a great traders tool, they would add a trade ladder like Infinity Futures platform uses.

We had a performance issue in backtesting. Now it is fixed. New version of cAlgo will be available next week

Sorry, when was that update coming out?

I had the same happen, turns out it was my robot. Have you tried one of the basic free robots from here to see if the same happens?

Don't know if you can tell, but the meta background is 'blacker', this may be all that would make the difference.

Does CTrader use RBG or CMYK? What colour format?

Yes, I have already done this, and your white chart looks quite clear. I use black background

A little hard to describe, but I cannot get the same candle 'clarity' as I can achieve with metatrader.

I even took 2 screen shots, one of each, and loaded them into Paint but they look very much the same. I will post them on here but I think they will look the same anyway.

I am heavily reliant on candles and price action, but find I cannot gauge my trades accurately with the CTrader charts.

I use fixed spread.

I have removed all variables I can as to obtain a repeatable test.

It looks like it's the robot coding, as testing using some of the free robots here yields consistent repeatable results.

Anyone know why repeated back testing without changing any settings still yields different results each time?

Everything should be constant, the only variation (which never effected MT4 backtesting) is CPU usage.

I simply don't know how one could ever get consistent positive results with moving goal posts???

Any ideas anyone? Could it be my robot coding?

I removed the first column and worked perfectly.

Thanks.

Does anyone know where I can download M1 historical data in a format suitable for use in CAlgo?

All formats I have seen vary in one way or another.

I am getting very inconsistent back test results back to back when using server data on weekends, even when spread is set to fixed. I never realised before but if I disconnect the internet I cannot backtest with CAlgo.

Results need to be repeatable or are otherwise useless.

I have found it's easiest to just use forex tester to import my metatrader data and export it to a .csv files, but am still left with the problem of converting time and date to the correct format.

Any ideas?

I have this:

but need 2013.07.19,00:00, etc. as stated in previous post.

The problem lies with the 'period' or decimal place when using excel for csv files.

Any ideas?

I don't think this is an isolated issue, I have the same problem with virtual and RAM nearly all consumed since the update.
