Hi Paul,
Many thanks for tthis: it's worked! :-)
I don't begin to understand it - and please don't bother to explain as it'll go straight over my single celled swede - but I'm now up and running.
Thanks again,
Tim.

Hi Paul,
I've just joined this forum having downloaded cTrader for the first time today. Surfing the net to find out what I can about the platform I found your site and had a look at the tools you provide. They look interesting and, if I stick with cTrader, I might well be tempted by some of your widgets. However, this one I don't get! ;-)
The reason I don't get it is that as I understand it, cTrader operates completely independantly of the broker - FxPro in my case. The good folk at Spotware claim their key USP is that cTrader can't be manipulated in any way by the broker which puts users of the platform on a level playing field with everyone else. See this post by Panagiotis:
. . .You all know that cTrader was introduced as a pure STP/ECN/NDD platform (and still is without the DD add on) at times when trading technology was subject to limited control and brokers could manipulate most parts of a trading system. Therefore there was a need for a platform that would guarantee proper order execution without any sort of manipulation.
Throughout these years cTrader and Spotware have educated hundreds of thousands of traders regarding fair trading practices and we believe that we have raised awareness amongst traders while pushing brokers to adapt more transparent practices. . .
The point I'm making is that if we are to believe Panagiotis and his Spotware colleagues, then your stealth order software won't make any difference to the way orders are executed by FxPro? Doubtless, I'm misunderstanding either what your software is for or what 'a pure STP/ECN/NDD platform' is - so if you can shed some light on this I'd be grateful.
Cheers,
Tim.

Hi Panagiotis,
I have a similar problem to the OP. I've registered with FxPro and downloaded the cTrader platform from their website. However, I am unable to install the program on my laptop. All I get is the following error message . . .
Tech support at FxPro suggested that I disable any firewall and antivirus software and try again. I was running AVG FREE which, I understand, can cause all kinds of issues when attempting to install new software, so I completely removed it using AVG uninstaller. Additionally, I diabled my Windows firewall and tried to install cTrader once again. Still no joy. So, I found my way here and downloaded cTrader direct from cTDN. Hey presto - it installed instantly!
My question is - using 'your' cTrader platform (as opposed to FxPro's cTrader platform), can I access my FxPro demo account?
Apologies if I'm using the wrong jargon - I'm pretty hopeless when it comes to software / techie issues! Thanks in advance for your help.
Tim.

Okay Paul - even I can get my head around that! I've let my FxPrp account manager know and provided a link to this thread. I'm hoping our respictive diligence and feedback will be rewarded handsomely. I dunno, commission free trades for a month perhaps?! :-)
