How can we determine we have connection to the server?

I have a flashing Dot next to my account number ( both Live and Demo) and I do not receive quotes.

I downloaded another Brokers Ctrader to double check and I experience the same problem as of Sept 28, 2012

My broker denies the server from being down and recommends me to use the Webtrader which works fine.

What can we do to determine connectivtiy and if its on our end or the brokers?

Also since I've tried to use two different brokers and I experience the same issue, - do these brokers share the same server?

Thanks for any help.  Quite Frustrating.

I would presume that you have restricted network? I had same thing in my day office.

Were there any solutions to fixing the connection at your day office?  Are you using a proxy?

Is it possible that my ISP is blocking the IP from these servers. I have no issues with other trading platforms.

Hello,

Please try the following:

In Connection Settings
Server
: http-proxy.ctrader.com
Port: 443
Protocol: HTTP
Use proxy to connect: Enabled (checked)

This solves the connection isseus for ctrader, but not for calgo.
Could you please share the connection settings for calgo?

Hello,

The settings are the same for both cTrader and cAlgo.
Please try again and make sure that you did not mistype anything.

Regards

Hello,

Here at my work office we have a proxy that controls all the outgoing/ingoing connections.

I have tried the connection settings mentioned above but with no success, also the ctrader Web dosn't work.

Any workarounds?

You can try something like ultrasurf.
