[Bug report 8][Inconsistent Time Display Between cTrader Journal Tab and Journal File]
11 Jan 2025, 17:25

Hi,

1. Description:
In the cTrader Desktop (Windows) 5.1.11 application, the time displayed in the “Journal” tab (e.g., "cTrader started" message) is based on the time set by me in the "Current Time" (e.g., UTC+4) field, but the time saved in the journal file (e.g., “\Documents\cTrader\Journals\Spotware\Journal-2025-1.txt”) is in UTC+0 (Server Time).

This inconsistency can cause confusion when correlating events between the interface and the saved file.

2. Expected Behavior:
Both the “Journal” tab and the saved journal file should display the same time format (both in the user's local time, as set in the "Current Time" field) to avoid confusion.

Ideally, this behavior should respect the user's UTC setting in the cTrader Desktop application (e.g., UTC+4) for both display and storage of time.

3. Actual Behavior:
The “Journal” tab displays the time based on the user's local time, as set in the "Current Time" field (e.g., 17:54:20:755 for UTC+4).

However, the journal file saves the time in the Server Time UTC+0 (e.g., 13:54:20:755), causing a mismatch between the displayed time and the saved time.

4. Could you please investigate this bug ?

Let me know if you need any additional information (environment: Windows 10 Pro) or logs to help resolve it.

Thank you for your support !
