cTrader CPU and RAM usage increases abnormally
25 Aug 2024, 21:21

cTrader CPU and RAM usage increases abnormally during busy trading hours in NY time.

Even with the latest cTrader Desktop ver. 5.0.29, the freezing problem with Tick-base (On Tick, Renko, etc.) cBots has not yet been fixed.

The cause of this is likely memory overflow in the Bars Data of Tick-Base, as has been pointed out in many past threads.

cTrader Desktop version, number of cBots (live), VPS specifications
-----
cTrader Desktop: Ver. 5.0.29
cTrader Platoform x 2
Total Charts x 18
Total cBot (live) x 29

VPS: Windows Server 2016 at London
CPU: 6vCPU Cores
RAM: 16 GB RAM
Storage: 200 GB NVMe
----

Unless this problem is solved, cTrader cannot be used safely.
Its performance is inferior to other platforms.

The cTrader development team should prioritize improving this issue.

Hi Mike,

It seems that you run several cBot's and custom indicators which are consuming the CPU. The actual cTrader applciations do not seem to use more than 5% of the CPU. Also it is normal that the CPU usage during peak hours will increase as all of these custom algos will have more ticks to process.

Best regards,

Panagiotis

The issue is with your desktop app, not with the bot. Talk with those guys and see how they fixed the issue:
