cTrader Desktop (Windows) extremely sluggish/laggy/unresponsive

I have just downloaded cTrader for Windows and it is extremely sluggish. It is extremely unresponsive. Any action has a reaction time of 4 seconds. The web platform works completely fine. It is the Windows-based platform that is giving issues. There is one graph open and no cBots. Could somebody please help.
