Default lot size on opening a window
22 Jan 2015, 22:47

Right click >create new order>     =   We open a window

That window shows a "Volume" which is populated with a figure

Its set at 100k GBP in my case

!   An account killer for this little account  !

How do I set it at "say" 5k - without having to change the bloomin thing each time

In other words - I want the     "x" k   on that pop up window by default

I use pending orders mainly so the market order double click is not much use to me - tho I can set the dafault lot size value in that left hand panel

Thanks and apologies for missing anything obvious

Default setup

Guys you are so right regarding this issue.

I would say the default setup in QuickTrade should be carried over to the "Create new order". It's nearly impossible to change it every time one makes a new order and there is a big risk of making an error the way it is functioning now. QuickTrade is missing a very important parameter, lots to trade! Why not make the first trade as a default setting in QuickTrade and after that it is carried over to Create new order. After all most traders wants the same setup and risk management in all their trades.

March 2017: Still no solution??

These days I try cTrader once again (I have 20+ MT4 accounts in profit).

cTrader is dangerous! 1 lot default lot size and no way to change it.

Hi coship00,

At the moment default position size is the minimum position size.

This is false, the default position size is 1 full lot, when the minimum is 0.01

This is another way brokers are making easy money, as every now and then retail traders will accidentally hit the button without adjusting lot size on a new chart.

We can't forget that brokers are the ones who pay cTrader, and not actual traders, so all this is designed on purpose.

You will not have an easy way to set the default lot size

You will be able to take partial profits, but you cannot partially cut your position when trade is against you, you have to keep monitoring charts.

What an industry

upvote

Default position size keeps jumping to 1.00 lots for FX and 10.00 on XAU/USD after the restart of ctrader and the opening of a new Symbol.
This only happens on the chart trader but on the symbol window it stays 0.01.

Just add a setting where we can pick a standard default size on the platform.

Where is the last picked lot size saved?

Yep…

This just cost me.

It's an absolute joke that this can't be edited in CTrader.
