Issue with Selected Instrument Window Closing on Compilation in VS2022
24 Dec 2023, 09:31
Hello,
I'm encountering an issue with the cTrader platform where the selected instrument window closes automatically after I compile code in Visual Studio 2022. This behavior does not occur when I compile from Visual Studio 2019, so it seems to be specific to VS2022.
Here's a detailed description of what happens:
I open my cTrader and Visual Studio 2022.
I select an instrument in cTrader and start editing an indicator in Visual Studio.
Upon compiling the code in VS2022, the selected instrument window in cTrader closes without any input from me.
This issue disrupts my workflow, and I would like to understand why this is happening and how to resolve it. It's worth mentioning that this problem does not arise when using Visual Studio 2019, which points to a potential compatibility issue with VS2022.
I've attached two screenshots to illustrate the problem. The first screenshot is before compilation, and the second one is after, showing the missing instrument window.
Any assistance or guidance on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

When switching tabs, the configured settings are lost, which is quite inconvenient, as it requires reconfiguration every time. Is it possible to fix this in the new cTrader update?

Hi there,
Unfortunately we cannot reproduce such a behavior in the latest version. Can you record a video capturing the entire UI area and the exact steps to reproduce the problem?

(I apologize for my poor language skills) I want to see the latest open positions and the latest closed positions. To do this, they should be positioned at the top of the window - within the visible area. But when I switch windows, the sorting disappears...

I asked for a video capturing the entire UI area. The one you sent does not, hence we cannot see the broker and the cTrader version.

After setting the sort order to descending, I noticed that when switching to another menu item and then returning, the set sorting is lost, which creates significant inconveniences. This problem is observed with all brokers and in all the latest versions of the cTrader platform.

I will add very important information for the highly esteemed cTrader developers: the loss of sorting direction when switching and returning to a tab occurs both in the territory of Ukraine and in the territories of Estonia, Poland, and some other countries.

And please explain to me, how can the sorting in the open positions window and in the trade history window depend on the broker

Hi Vitali,
Knowing the broker we can know the exact version you are using. Also the entire UI can provide more hints regarding what the issue could e.g. as you pointed out, it could be a localization issue. We cannot know this if we only have a part of the screen. We will check this on Monday.
We managed to reproduce the issue thanks to the complete UI screenshot. It seems that the issue happens only in cTrader Automate. It will be fixed in an upcoming release of cTrader.
