Symbol Info - Wrong trading conditions shown
06 Feb 2023, 00:42

Dear Spotware,

I would like to bring to your attention the fact that, for some brokers, the trading conditions shown on the Symbol Info section are not correct.

Example:
The information highlighted on screenshot below is completely wrong. The real conditions are as follows:

  • Lot size : 1 unit (1 NAS100) - Not 1$
  • Min. trade volume : 1 lot - Not 1$

The following remains a mystery:

  • Max. trade volume : ?
  • Swap long : -36% ???
  • Swap short : -36% ???

Note that this is not a unique case. I've also noticed this for some other brokers.

Wasn't this information supposed to be connected (without fail), by Spotware, to the real trading conditions applied by the broker? Why, unlike most brokers, is there a deviation here?

Thanks for clarifying.

Remark:

At the moment, for some brokers the swaps are shown in pips while for some other brokers these are shown in %.

Suggestion:

Please show the swaps both in pips and (%) so that it becomes easier to compare these among brokers.

Dear trader,

This information is configured by the broker, not by cTrader. You need to contact your broker to investigate further.

Best regards,

Dear Spotware,

In fact I was already expecting that answer, reason why I ask the following:

Wasn't this information supposed to be connected (without fail), by Spotware, to the real trading conditions applied by the broker?

Apparently every broker is allowed to "hammer"/manipulate this information, which is something really serious, not a detail.

When you cannot even rely on the trading conditions that are shown something is really wrong.

I wonder what other advantages brokers are able to take from a platform with the motto "Traders First".

Thanks for clarifying this further.

No, we do not set up the trading conditions of the brokers. Brokers set up their trading conditions based on their offering. Please talk to your broker.

Hello,

That's obviously not what I meant.

My question is in fact very simple and clear:

1. Why are the trading conditions shown not linked to the real conditions applied?

2. Why is it possible for a broker to show trading conditions that do not correspond to the real conditions applied?

This is not about "set up the trading conditions of the brokers" but about consistency and reliability by not allowing this to happen. This is definitely a cTrader issue.

Following this, it is possible for a broker, for instance, to mention 0 swaps/comissions while charging these.

3. Where is the transparency here?

I am pretty sure you understand what I mean.
