How to avoid a market and a stop limit order of not being excecuted
14 Jul 2022, 13:51

Recently i face the problem of some stop limit orders that i set they were  not excecuted during high volume ( news). i was wondering if there is a way to avoid it or limit it. Because of that i am conserned , prior to news in a market order that is running ,if my Stop Loss , i.e 10 pips, will be excecuted . And if not , how can i prevent of loosing less possible money.

Thanks for yor time

Hi Dimitri,

You cannot avoid this, since this is the purpose of a stop limit order. Not to be executed if there is not enough liquidity. Stop losses are executed as market orders therefore there is no such possibility.

Thanks Παναγιωτη,

1) If i got it right and sorry for repeating, my stop loss in market order or on an a activated stop limit order will be excecuted no mater what? right?

2) In the Stop Limit section there is an option LIMIT RANGE ...Just to make sure that i undrestand it's role . It gives the range to the brooker to excecute my order as close to the pips i have set. i.e The order is a "Buy stop Limit' at the price of 1.90000 and the Limit range is set at 15 pips . the brooker wil execute the order between the price of 1.90000 - 1.90015. Is that right?

Ευχαριστω για τον χρονο σου. ( thanks for your time)

Dimitris
