Date difference on D1 M1 TF
Date difference on D1 M1 TF
29 Oct 2021, 13:18
Hello guys, I have this problem with the date difference in my cTrader dependeing on the timeframe I use.
When I open a D1 chart e.g. USD/JPY and pick the most recent high of 114.700 it says wrongly 19.10.2021 on my chart, where it should be the 20.10.2021.
But then when I "zoom" into the M1 timeframe and go back to exactly the same high it shows me the correct date 20.10.2021.
How come there is a difference?
I live in Germany and checking the UTC was correct +2, if that matters.
Thank you!

Hi zytotoxiziteat,
There is a difference because the D1 candle opens on the 19/10 and colses on the 20/10. The high peak happens on the 20th but the D1 candle displays the opening time. If you don't want your candles to span through two days, just use UTC+3.

Panagiotis
Thank you verfy much.

Is there a reason why it is adjusted to UTC+3 or just randomly picked?
Thank you

Hi zytotoxiziteat,
Neither of the two. Markets open on Monday 00:00 UTC+3, so we take it as a starting point for our daily bars.

Makes no sense to me why the markets are not opening rather on Monday at 00:00 UTC+0

Hi zytotoxiziteat,
Markets open based on trading sessions and not based on UTC time.
