Lack of server power on Ctrader downloaded version
17 Dec 2018, 13:50

I am connected to Singapore-4.
My broker is ICMarkets.
Last week it took forever to load my workspace.
I get disconnected frequently as well.
This week moving charts around, moving stop loss, taking positions is very slow.
Not just a few seconds. It takes several minutes (mostly 2 to 3, but sometimes up to 10 minutes) when I start up my system and until I am fully connected.
Will you please use less users on each server, or buy new hardware as the present seems to be old conf.

I am sure it is the servers as I have pinged googles servers while i was trading, 1 lost package on 2600 pings.
But a reconnection to ctrader server, with following several minutes downtime.
My trading station is topdollar equipment. My fiber connecton is top dollar.

There is only your servers left.

This is a serious matter people.
You get this one shot at it, then I change to Ninja Trader.
I loose thousands of usd due to this issue.
Get it done - now please.

Hi 1001camel,

We cannot detect any problems on the specific proxy. You can use WinMTR to run some network diagnostics. If the connection is fine, then probably there is some other issue with cTrader or your computer. In this case, please send us some troubleshooting information by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Shift+T, pasting the link to this discussion in the text box and pressing submit.

Best Regards,

Panagiotis

Hi.

Now I have been testing all my equipment, I have run the network test you suggested.
It shows there is some problem with the connection.
But .. The funny part is following:
I am also a customer with FXpro, connected to the HK-9 server.
I even tried running the two versions of ctrader simultanious on same laptop.
There are no problems with FXpro.
Connection speed is the same, but I can switch between charts and take trades like a charm.

So, we start to see a pattern here.
What is your comment to this post :

Because I believe that is what is happening.
When I changed from FXpro - due to new european regulation regarding leverage, I setup MT4 with my present broker. It was a disaster.
Slow speed, orders not being filled, unable to move stoploss.
etc etc.

Ctrader worked fine with my present broker in the beginning - about a month and a half ago.
I was really happy.
But then it started - not being filled, slippage, then later not able to close positions, disconnections frequently, extremely slow speed.

Pretty much as described in the post I gave you here.

I am waiting for technical support to arrive from Etisalat, to check my internet connection.
To be honest, yes there were package losses, according to the software you pushed me.
My own ping via command prompt only showed 1 lost package on 2600 pings.
I pinged google.com in both scenarios.

Will get back to you when the tech guy has been here.

Poor Data Transfer on Server Connection

Hi,

To add to the above I am Australian based and data transfer over the server connection 'Sydney 6' is very poor. Every startup of the platform loads a chart but when I change timeframe all I get is two spinning donuts and a black screen.

To view a different timeframe I have to shutdown the platform and restart which is quite frustrating.

I contacted my broker "pepperstone' and they told me it is out of their hands with proxy servers placed around the world which they have no control over.

It would be a very special day for me to change timeframes and still see a working chart. MT4 works perfectly.

Yes, I have changed PC's and the problem persists.

I hope this can help someone else as like usual I do not expect a reply to this post for 3-4 years.

Regards.

Update.
I made a complete fresh installation, wasted half a day on that.
Plus the tech guy I had to get out to check my network, which was fine.
Lost all my indicators etc. And deleted all evidence that maybe was on the laptop in form of logs and files etc.
But at least I got a different server, speed used to be 45/160, now it is 100/110.
C-trader works fine now.
So much for package loss, and my hardware issues..
Turns out it is either, as expected, slow server experience, poor software or fraudent broker - pick one.

I surely hope this was my last ticket to support on such issue, I believe it was, Fx Pro had me do the same once in 4 years. Was not as bad as in this case.
And thanks spotware support, I cant complain about the fast response and the customer service I got, also from the guys at my brokers, on same issue.

Really good.

Merry Christmas.
We are back to same problem again.
Lack of bandwith from Singapore-4.
Amsterdam whatever is ok, HK-9 is acceptable.
But Singapore-4 is not delivering as it should.
It may perform well for people with only a simple configuration, but I have several monitors and windows open.
My connection is 40/ ...
Traffic in 1664 kb, increases 1 kb per second.
Traffic out 219 kb.

As I said, it is not sufficient.
You need to give more bandwith on that server.

I can see the server changes sometimes, not sure what the criteria is for which server I get.

The couple of minutes I have been writing this email has given me 1820 kb traffic in, still increading 1 kb per second.
Connection is still 40 ms / ...

This is your last shot at this issue Panagoitis.
I laid down 10k usd in commision last month.

Poor Data Transfer on Server Connection

Sorry 1001camel for partly butting in on your thread, but I am having the same frustrating problems.

I have two different platforms on two different machines and two different O/S, they both are affected with this issue.

As a part solution I made a suggestion to provide implementation for local history, as it appears on every start up of the platform it needs to transfer all data again, as opposed to simply loading the latest fresh data.

Best Regards,

I have sent you a mail as requested..

I was a bit reluctant to provide the details, since these are delicate.
Today I however got enough of my broker ICmarkets and or the Ctrader platform.
I will find trade via ninjatrader and a futura broker.
Am done with scam artists and being wiped by verious tricks and brokers, and so called ' liquidity providers' with greedy and doubtful markups.

Good luck in future Panagoitis, and thank you for the support during the past 6 years. You seem to be an ok guy.
Gert

Oh, now I found the biggest part of the problem, I assume you will be happy to know this.
Seems you squeezed a B-book feature in to the backoffice of c-server.
Not only a B-book feature actually.
Let me refresh your memory:
