I have almost the same problem. When I copy https://ct.spotware.com/copy/strategy/84247 , Ctrader copy autamatically opens a Buy and a Sell on Japan 225 that the service provider does not opened.

This is happening by design. Strategy providers often open positions in NOKJPY deliberately to satisfy cTrader Copy's requirements. According to cTrader's rules for strategy providers, there must be 'At least one open position' at all times for a strategy to remain active and available for copying. You can read the full requirements here: https://help.ctrader.com/ctrader-copy/becoming-a-strategy-provider/

Strategy providers typically choose NOKJPY because it's a relatively low-volatility currency pair with minimal spread costs and reduced overnight fees, making it ideal for maintaining a required position without significantly affecting overall strategy performance. They often open both a buy and sell position simultaneously (creating a hedge) to further minimize any price movement impact.

This is a common practice among many cTrader strategy providers, not just the one you're following. Unfortunately, there's no way to exclude specific instruments from being copied when you follow a strategy - it's an all-or-nothing approach.
