Copying the relax1 strategy from Urai
04 Nov 2020, 09:27

After some more research and discussions i declare my original Post is Obsolete.
What happened:
I researched urai/relax, saw his statement on relax1 (derivative of relax) and decided to follow relax1.
Unfortunately there was an imposter that named his strategy relax 1     (so with a space in between), hardly visible on a small screen.
Thinking i followed relax1 i actually was following relax 1.
That imposter (centimet91) depleted my account within an hour)

SO:  CHECK CHECK AND CHECK if the CTID is the same and if the strategy name is EXACTLY the same.

Looking at the reactions to this post, more people had their account zeroed out by this scammer so be very carefull when following a copy strategy.
Let's all work on improving ourselves and the platform so mistakes like this will be minimized in the future.
I posted a suggestion on

Please improve comment and upvote

+++++O B S O L E T E   P O S T ++++++
I tried the relax1 strategy from urai
This is a strategy that looked stable (according to urai it is the derivative of relax)

Suddenly I get a mail saying.

"The strategy "Relax 1" that you are following has been stopped by the provider"

Checking it, it shows the account balance is ZERO !!!!!!
It shows many losing trades all set in a short timeframe on EURUSD that totally depleted the account

What is weird:
- In the copy advertisement from relax1 (https://ct.icmarkets.com/copy/strategy/14462) the account is still going strong and shows no losses!
- On my account i can not see any trades that made this loss.

Can someone please explain WHAT HAPPENED HERE!

best rgds.

RE:

Turns out there was an imposter account with the same strategy name relax1 but the provider was not urai.  The fact that ctrader can allow duplicate strategy names is the problem and I lost alot of money.  Not happy.

Hi adzpapz28,

cTrader Copy does not allow the same names for different strategies or same cTID names but similar names are possible. You should always carry out some due diligence before following a strategy.

Hi Shares4us,

Our support investigated the issue. You followed a different strategy than the one you are claiming. The strategy name was  "Relax 1" ans was provided by a different cTrader ID.

Same issue occurred to me

I made also , as Share4us, the due dilligence checking the name and the history of the strategy, the provider background and the reference coming from the main strategy, and the money in the copied account has blown in just 2 hours.

Can someone explain to me how this can happen? are they placing orders at wierd values from another account and then matching them with the copy account to basically transfer funds?

I don't understand it, and it worrys me because I am also interested in copy trading, but now I am not so sure...

Regards,

Peter

Hi Peter,

I am not sure what explanation you need. The users above followed a strategy that lost all its funds in trading.

Relax1

I was wondering how things are going for your guys. I have analysed a lot of copy providers and consider Urai and Relax to be one of the very few that I feel comfortable with. I have seen Relax1 and am copying it with a small account.

Is it working properly?

I notice that I have seen some trades at the end of last week, but they are not recorded in the public Relax1 profile. I also note that Relax appers to have stopped trading even though there is still a lot of money in it.

Does anybody have any clarity on this? I would be delighted to hear of any. Thanks

RELAX having a bad day

The real Relax who now trades with the account Relax1 is currently in a trade with a 15-20 per cent draw down. Thats 2 million dollars worth of followers in 20 per cent draw down! Man i thought this guy traded responsibly but clearly not. If it goes another 20 pips up for euro he is looking at a 1 million dollar loss!!!! Total craziness

Hi @PanagiotisCharalampous. Would you mind unblocking my account which you've just blocked without a reason for posting in here? The other is my account connected to my live ctrader account. I really don't want to have to use alternative or fake e-mails. I have no idea why you blocked me without any warning whatsoever, but could you please reconsider. There is no other way to contact mods, so I'm doing via this topic. Thanks.

Well, my apologies, but an insult to software? that's new. I guess you just didn't like my opinion about your product. To be clear, I love ctrader, since I started using it I never looked back at Mt4/Mt5 again, but the copy feature is lacking a lot in terms of functionality compared to other systems. Anyway, can I have the other account unblocked? It's really pointless to have to create new accounts. Regards.

RE: Same issue occurred to me Hi everybody . I see some people lose money by fake relax without knowing the reason. simply due to transaction fees. You guys did not pay attention to before copying. This account collects $ 20 1lot of transaction, not to me

Hi,
@PanagiotisCharalampous
Sorry for refreshing this post. However, I wanted to confirm one thing in regards to the above.
In Ctrader I can see two strategy providers: Urai and urai
I am wondering whether both are the same. Both accounts have the same 2 strategies with the same names: Relax and Relax1, but there are different profits and different operational costs...

Urai strategy hyperlink:

https://ct.icmarkets.com/copy/strategy/22363

urai strategy hyperlinks:
https://ct.spotware.com/copy/strategy/3602

https://ct.icmarkets.com/copy/strategy/14462

Do you believe they are one and the same strategy provider?

Thank you for your help.

Thank you Shares4us
Could you please cast some more light on that? I've stopped copying this user before I get some clarity on this. So currently the volume fee set for this strategy is 30USD per 1 million. Hence I understand it is 3USD per lot and it is deducted from each opened position - contrary to the performance fee which is deducted during withdrawal of the funds or after 30 days.
Aside from the fact that the Urai user might be a different one from urai, what is the risk of using a strategy with volume fee? I have searched for this info on the telegram link above but did not find the answer there.
I would be grateful if you could share some background, please.

Cheers!
R.

After my recent terrible experience on this copy platform my only suggestion is not to follow anyone to copy. Just trade on your own if you can or please sit on your capital. Atleast it is safe that way.

RE: RE: RE: RE:

probably you were in the telegram group too late for the discussion. So here is the explanation i gave:

After seeing several times all funds of people being ripped off by a copyprovider it's time to warn you folks!.
READ CAREFULLY IF YOU DO NO LIKE BEING SCAMMED
The way they do it is simple.
Just charge a volumefee and sometimes a profitfee.
Make sure the fees are low to attract as many people as you can.
Then attract as much followers as possible by using a martingale or copying trades of a good strategy.
When there is enough 'dumb' money following and you're are in need of cash, open as much trades
on every tick and close them directly after they're opened.

For every trade opened the volume fee is deducted from the victims account and added to your account.
Even their set stoploss will not completely work because of lagging and filling.

So be warned and visit cTraderCopy Telegramgroup .
Read the pinned message and enjoy the good providers.
In private i'm a copier myself and only follow strategies that qualify the groups criteria. So sometimes
I sweat a little seeing what my providers do, but in the end it is still a profitable way of earning money for me.

Copytrading is like getting a taxi. Only ride with taxi-drivers that:
- know how to drive;
- know the city;
- have not to many accidents ;
- and only charge a fee for the distance travelled.

RE: RE:

that's a bit like:
"I once bumped on a bicycle when crossing the road. I'll never cross a road again."

If you want to cross a road first look at the traffic on the road and not just cross it without assessing the risks.

Same goes for copying / following a strategy.
Follow a Strategy only if you've done your research and follow in demo first.
Check the telegram chanel  for more info, comparisons and warnings.
