Open/close charts in code

I have had a quick look but AFAICT it is not possible to open/close chart programmatically? Is this true or can charts be opened/closed from C# code?

What do you want to do? Change the chart programmatically that the user is looking at? 

Or just want to change the data stream your code is reading from?
