play button freezes on my backtesting tab

I'm currently trying to do some back testing, but I can only get between 1 and 6 runs when changing parameters before the play button freezes on me and I can't execute the next test. Everything else works (the date slider, calendars, the live trading tab). The only way to solve the issue that I have found is to close cTrader then re-open it. Rebooting teh computer has no effect.

Play back button freezing

I have exactly the same problem, just started happening this morning. I can only run one back test and then play button freezes. Restarting ctrader allows you to run one back test then play button freezes but everything else on the screen still seems active.

same sort of problem here.
optimization ran for about 80 runs and then freezed. gave error it couldn't find some optimization log file on everey run

I'm having something similar.

While developing cBots and Plugins I find that after a few times making changes and rebuilding the code, the plugin / bot either doesn't run or, in backtesting the play button is “greyed out” i.e. a darker shade of green than it should be. Restarting cTrader fixes the issue.

Hope someone figures out what it is :)

Same issue here, can only run one backtest the have to restart platform, very annoying.

I have the same problem. Optimisation runs for about 50 rounds but then nothing. Once you stop it the play button is not working again even for backtesting. You have to restart Ctrader but the issue comes up again.

I'm encountering the same problem with cTrader v5.0.40.33090. The start button is disabled after approximately 9-10 backtesting runs. It seems to be a recurring issue that requires a program restart to resolve. I hope the cTrader Dev Team addresses this bug soon.

Swiftest Workaround

Having the same problem.

The quickest workaround I've found is to briefly disable and re enable my network connection to prompt cTrader to reconnect.

I logged a support call on their "Report Technical issue" page, but jugging by the lack of feedback on the forum their busy trying to fix things. Hopefully we'll get some feedback soon.

Today I left my PC optimizing a bot, came back after 3h and the system was totally unresponsive. I had to kill cTrader from the task manager, it happened twice already, I don't seem to be able to complete a full optimization round.

Anything info I can gather? I am on cTrader 5.0.46.

Thanks for your reply. This issue is already mentioned in several threads and I think you said in one of them that it's been reproduced and investigated for a hotfix, so I will not open a new thread, even because I wouldn't know what to report. cTrader just hangs completely when optimizing a bot after 3h or so and all I can do is just kill it from the task manager.
I will just wait for the next update, thank you.
