A single journal for multiple accounts. Really?
A single journal for multiple accounts. Really?

Hello,
Concerning cTrader desktop v5.0.25:
As far as I can see, only a single journal (.txt file) is generated for multiple accounts (running on individual cTrader instances and different brokers).
I was able to notice this through the symbol name, since (apparently) no reference to the respective account number is ever made.
As you can imagine, this makes it very hard to effectively filter/decipher the trading information.
In other words, this can be mind-blowing.
Am I missing something?

Hi there,
The only question in your post is if you missed anything, so the answer is that you did not miss anything :)

Hi Panagiotis,
Nevertheless, in my opinion, community forums should function as platforms for open discussion, rather than just answering explicit questions ;)
What's the purpose of providing a single journal for multiple accounts?
Are there any intentions improve this in the future?
Thank you.

Hi ncel01,
I will forward your point of view to the product team but I do not enter into such discussions. My scope of work is to help people use the platform, not to discuss management decisions.
Best regards,
Panagiotis

Hi Panagiotis,
Appreciated. Thank you!
I believe that having multiple processes (cTrader instances) accessing to the same file is also not ideal.
Suggestion for the Journals location:
C:\Users\"username"\Documents\cTrader\Journals\"Broker name"\"Live / Demo"\"Account number"
So far, no distinction for brokers is made since “Spotware” is always used regardless of the applicable broker.
My scope of work is to help people use the platform, not to discuss management decisions.
I understand and respect that.
