Managing my algo bot on a VPS

Hi,

I was thinking of creating an app to manage my bot when it is running on the VPS. Obviously I can log onto the VPS and manage the bot that way but if I was to create an app that could pause trading etc. then it would be much easier.

Has anyone attempted to do this? And if so what would you suggest is the best way to do it? I was thinking of just having a console server that listened for messages and updates a file. The algo bot then just checks these settings within the file before placing a trade etc.
