Optimization broken on AMD processor
Optimization broken on AMD processor

Hi Panagiotis,
I just spent thousands to upgrade to a new PC to improve bot optimization speeds, but it looks to have been wasted money. I'm running on a brand new AMD Ryzen 9 3950X (16 core, 32 threads), and optimization times are orders of magnitude slower than on my 5-year-old Intel 6700K CPU. In online benchmarks, the new AMD processor is meant to be a 4x improvement on my old Intel CPU.
I have resource usage set to 100% - optimization takes a long time to start, runs for a bit at 20% utilization and then drops to 5% and later to 1% utilization, but never actually finish. This is on Pepperstone cTrader 3.8.
As an example, I tested a small optimization run on my old PC which finished in 5m09s. Running the same bot with the same parameters on my new PC, and it is still running as I type, 45 minutes later it is roughly 80% done. I upgraded to improve on optimizations runs that used to take a few hours to complete on my old system. Please tell me there is a workaround and I've not just wasted so many thousands of dollars.
I have seen some similar threads here that allude that the problem should have been fixed in v3.8, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Relevant threads:

Hi mpistorius,
It seems there is a general issue with AMD processors. We are currently investigating this.

It's been four years, nobody reports any problem at the moment
