Getting values from set files

are there any examples of a BOt that uses the set file to load values.  I would like to have a setting that can be modified while the Bot is still running.  So the set fiel will load the values at the start but then i would like to be able to manually change a value in the set file and have the bot check a parameter onBar so that if it has changed it uses the updated value with out having to stop.

Any code out there?
