Architecture

I haven't been able to find a precise description of the architecture anywhere, in terms of where applications and code actually reside, so can anyone tell me if the setup for cAlgo and cTrader is that the applications run on my local machine and the code that I write in cAlgo also resides only on my own machine (unless of course I give it to somebody else), the application using my code then generates "signals" that get sent to a tradeserver somewhere which executes orders based on that, in other words a setup that is similar to how MT4 works?
