Backtesting swap and merge orders?
18 Mar 2019, 14:14

Hi

i have qustion about swap. My trading strategy open many position per day (100-300), some intra-day sells, some keep open for weeks. In backtesting i can set commisions fee a spread, but I don't know if cTrader counts swap or weekend rollover (e.g. Octa Fx Broker) while testing.  And if yes, where i find summary? Its very important, because for total trade 10lot and 20day open is swap approx 420USD!

and second question is possible merge two open position to one new position with median price? Or other way, how group many open position to one group and one line in graf and simply close this group if i want?

you wouldn't want to add to the statistics summary, also the total swap charges, or even the total spread?

Its possible now use cTrader 3.5 beta on live account? I have an account with several brokers, but for each i need use their custom brand cTrader instance. No is possible in new 3.5 version see all linkend accounts (different brokers) to account switch?

Thanks Lukas

Hi Lukas,

See below the answers to your questions

  1. Backtesting does not take into consideration swaps.
  2. Position merging is not possible. If you want to have only one position per symbol, you can use a netting account
  3. You cannot use Spotware cTrader Beta with Live accounts.

Best Regards,

Panagiotis

Hi,

thanks for you very speed answer!

Netting account not possible for me, my cBot use hedging. i find solution only for reduction many sell position and many buy position. Example by price range to group for clear graf, median price and close all by group. Merge position would be the ideal solution :-(

thanks
